About Me

I began my practice as a barrister in 2020. Prior to this, I was a qualified Solicitor with Higher Rights of Audience in Family and Civil Litigation. I did not have a planned career path, but soon found myself drawn to Family, Commercial and Civil law. I also consult at times on White Collar Criminal Defence. All these years later, this is how it has stayed. Based in London, I appear in courts all over the United Kingdom but regularly represent clients in many countries abroad as well, especially the Middle East, as a native Arabic speaker.

My chosen areas of practice stemmed from the sense of satisfaction and achievement I feel when helping people who find themselves in difficult situations. What a privilege it is to have the opportunity to help, so, in my spare time, I run regular pro-bono clinics to help people with limited or no means to pay for representation. I am also a trustee of two charities I co-founded, one of which is focused on interfaith giving members a safe place so that they may socialise and learn and to encourage the youth to get off the streets and give to them purpose. Some of the campaigns ran by my charities include food drives for the less advantaged, winter drives for the homeless, and gifts to children in hospitals on Christmas Day.

I am blessed with an outstanding family. The latest addition is the wonderful Pongo the West Highland White Terrier. We go for long walks and discuss Life and Law. He loves playing ball, but after chasing it down, treats it as a bone.

Before law, I was a less fancy investment banker at a top tier global bank. I worked a lot with numbers and did some modelling too. Financial modelling that is, not the cat walks. I worked with leveraged portfolios and coverage. I also originated financial packages of over $50m each. Most of my clients were FTSE 100 and FTSE 250.

I read law at City University of London and completed a second banking bachelors at The London Institute of Banking and Finance. I then continued my postgraduate master’s in Business and Law at the University of Law. I have an ambition of completing a PhD on the suitability of the British Constitution for a 21st century democratic state. I have been invited as a guest speaker at the University of Cambridge and I am also an accredited Mediator in Civil and Commercial Mediation. Most recently, I have embarked on a Diploma in International Arbitration.

When I do ever get some spare time, I am a keen and experienced scuba diver and love exploring the underworld. I also enjoy reading, writing, travelling and horse riding. I am also a member of the following organisations:

  • Financial Service Lawyers Association
  • Institute of Financial Services
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
  • Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment
